Packing Items
Dental Floss
Thin cord used to remove plaque and food wedged between your teeth. There does not seem to be any strong research evidence to support its dental hygiene benefits, but talk to your doctor and do your own research to see if it is for you.
Dental Pick
An instrument to remove plaque and food from between your teeth. Be careful not to damage your gums and teeth enamel.
Dental Wax
Normally applied to dental braces to reduce discomfort around your mouth and gum area.
Mouthguard
Reduce the chance of damage to your teeth and mouth area. Pop one of these in during sports or other activities where your mouth meet with undue force.
Mouthwash
Used to rinse the mouth for dental hygiene or cosmetic reasons. Some people can be sensitive to mouthwash, so talk to your dentist to see if this might benefit you.
Oral Irrigator
A tool to clean your mouth using a stream of pressurised water.
Retainer
Normally used in the last phase of orthodontic treatment to keep teeth in the desired position.
Toothbrush (Electric)
Electric toothbrushes are generally bigger and require battery power. Some people feel they give a better clean and have features like pressure sensors so you don't brush too hard.

For when you want to brush using your own power.

Don't forget this or you won't be able to recharge your electric toothbrush.

Check with your dentist which type you should be using, e.g., Whitening toothpaste might wear some teeth.
